Of his teaching Paul said, “The wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 2:7), which “God hath revealed…unto us by his Spirit…Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth,….” (1 Corinthians 2:10-15). It is clear from these words that Paul wrote and taught what God by the Holy Spirit moved him to say. Among the things the Holy Spirit moved Paul to write, we read, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” (Titus 2:11, 12). Compare, Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; and Revelation 21:8.
Jesus, God’s gracious gift (John 3:16, 17; Titus 2:11), teaches all how not to live, and how one should live. God’s beloved Son teaches one how not to live, that is, not to be ungodly or sinfully lustful. Christians are taught, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (1 John 2:15, 16). Verse 17 says, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of the Father abideth forever”
With these inspired (God breathed) words in mind, please consider some things commonly accepted and taught by those with “enticing word of man’s wisdom.” God-ordained marriage is for one man to be married to one woman for life, except for death or fornication. (Genesis 2:18-25; Romans 7:1-4; Matthew 19:3-9). Biblical marriage, that is, God-ordained marriage “is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Hebrews 13:4). When a married man and woman follow Ephesians 5:22-33; Matthew 7:12; and other instruction from God, marriages will last until death. However, when one or both marital partners ignore God’s will, marriages will fail, and such persons will be judged according to Revelation 21:8. This writer and his beloved wife have been married fifty-seven (57) years as of May 30, 2020. Have there been problems? Of course, there have. However, seeking to follow God’s will enabled them to overcome issues. You can do the same, using the same recipe.
Another acceptable thing according to “man’s wisdom” is fornication. Some schools are teaching that such is acceptable, even giving children “protection.” Some choose not to marry for various reasons, yet have physical relationships, defiling the bed, and bringing damnation on themselves. (Hebrews 13:4; Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation 21:8).
Others deceived by “man’s wisdom” think that living together, whether married or unmarried, as husband and wife, between two parties of the same sex, having sexual relations is acceptable. Man may accept such, but God forbad and forbids such relationships. God ordained marriage between one man and one woman. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25). Jesus made it clear that what is acceptable and what was so from the beginning may very well be two different things. (Matthew 19:3-9). One of the strongest condemnations to the idea of two people of the same sex living together in a sexual relationship today is found in Romans 1:18-33. God also forbad this under Old Testament law. (Deuteronomy 23:17, 18; 1 Kings 14:24; 15:12; 2 Kings 23:7). If one were to honestly discuss this matter apart from the word of God, one would immediately realize that such unions would be self-destructive. If the LGBTQ agenda were totally followed, except for adoption, implantation of a man’s seed into a female’s body, in some one hundred (100) years all humans would be as extinct as the Dodo bird, and so would the fish, fowl, insect, and animals in a few years.
Some religions permit one man to have multiple wives. Again, read God’s order in Genesis 2: 18-25. Read also, Matthew 19:3-9.
There are so many other things taught by Jesus which are totally ignored by the masses. Again, read the lists in Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Romans 1:18-32; Revelation 21:8. Consider how rejecting God’s word is negatively affecting this world. Beloved, God did not call for denying ungodliness and worldly lust to fill pages. He knew that society would suffer if they followed this course. He also knew that prosperity would come when His will was followed.
God loves the world. (John 3:14-17). God loved man before man ever loved Him. (1 John 4:8). Jesus loved the world and died for the sins of the world, even when the world was an enemy. (Romans 5:6, 7).
Friend, look around you, and see the misery going on. Killings have become so frequent that they are casually reported. Thefts are not even reported in some instances. Rarely do we hear of domestic abuse, and people seem to be in shock when it is reported. It would be the exception if fornication or adultery were mentioned. The drug scene, inclusive of all drugs, is taking a toll on society. The list goes on and on and on. Many reject God’s way, and society pays for it in so many ways, including taxes, misery, and more.
Live for Jesus, and teach others to do the same. It is the only hope for the beautiful world we could want. Living for Jesus is the only way to enjoy genuine peace, to live in the kingdom of God upon earth (John 3:3-5; Colossians 1:13), and in His everlasting kingdom. (2 Peter 1:11).
The world has tried it living in disobedience to God. What is the current situation???? Why not do it God’s way???? You will see the difference!
