In a previous tract, it was unquestionably seen that the “devil…is a liar.” Remember again what Jesus said to the Jews who laid claim to being the seed of Abraham (John 8:33), “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh of his own, he speaketh a lie: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44). Please do not miss that (1) the devil is a liar, (2) lusts, (3) is a murderer from the beginning, (4) abode not in the truth, implying that he once was in the truth, (5) there is no truth in him, (6) he speaks of his own when he speaks a lie, (7) is the father of lies, (8) has children, and (9) his children follow or imitate him, doing what he does. The example of the devil lying from the beginning is seen in Genesis 3. God told “the man”, Adam, “But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:16, 17). TRUTH! Either God or Adam told Eve the same truth, because her own words show that she knew that she was not to eat of that tree. (Genesis 3:1-3). However, “the serpent, called the devil” (Revelation 12:9), lied to her, saying, “Ye shall not surely die.” He also lied when he told the woman that God was withholding good things from them. (Verses 4, 5). Paul, inspired of God (1 Corinthians 2), wrote, “For since by man came death” and “For as in Adam all die” (1 Corinthians 15:21, 22), allowing us to see that Adam’s obedience to the devil’s lies brought death to mankind.
Satan lied when he accused God of making “an hedge about” Job. (Job 1:10). Later, the devil told God to cause Job great sickness, and Job would curse God to His face. (Job 2:4, 5). In both cases God gave Satan power to do anything he chose to Job, except taking his life. (Job 1:12; 2:6). Consider all the evil devil inflicted on Job. (Job 1:13-19; 2:7). Rejoice in Job’s faithful actions amid both evils. (Job 1:20-22; 2:8-10). Job’s wife even questioned the integrity of Job’s heart, thinking God was responsible for the evils he faced, and she called upon her husband to “curse God, and die.” (Job 2:9). Job replied, “Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” (Job 2:10). On November 22, 2019, Barrett Chapman, an elder of the Chapman Church suffered a stroke and died in less than three (3) days. The writer was blessed to sit with the family most of the time. Unlike Job’s wife, sister Bobbye Chapman wept, but talked about her husband’s faithfulness, and expressed wishes for all to be faithful to God, so that there could be a happy reunion in heaven.
When Job’s three (3) friends (?) “heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place…to mourn with him and to comfort him.” (Job 2:11). Chapters 4 through 31, record their false accusations, along with Job’s answers. The youthful “Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram” then stated his angry illiterate thoughts, and Job answered him. (Job 32-36). None of the lying accusations of Satan through Job’s accusers moved him to doubt God. He sinned not!
The old lying devil even took a turn at tempting Jesus with his distorted logic and misuse of the scriptures. (Matthew 4:1-11). He tempted Jesus, using the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, the three ways he tempts all today with his lying children. (1 John 2:15-17). We can overcome the devil and his lying children (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 12:11; 21:7), by realizing that Satan has liars, and by hiding the word of God in our hearts, our minds. (Psalm 119:111; Matthew 4:4, 7, 10).
With these things in mind, consider some lies told today. First, one hears that marriage has no restrictions, that one may marry today for the duration of love, and that the marriage may cease if love does. Paul did not share this philosophy. He by inspiration (1 Corinthians 2; 2 Peter 1:20, 21) wrote, “The woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law to her husband.” (Romans 7:1-4). Others, in spite of the verses just cited, are led to believe that one may put away his/her marital mate if someone better is found, such as, one more compatible, better looking, richer, and so on. Other than death, God gives only one other way to remarry, that is, a mate committing fornication. (Matthew 19:1-9). The guilty may not remarry!
Second, Satan’s lies are promoted when people are told that the LGBTQ agenda is acceptable to God. Humans may accept such, but marriage between two men, two women, and other LGBTQ agendas contradict God’s pattern. God created a man (male), and He made a woman (female) to be his help meet. (Genesis 2:18-25). God proclaimed this male and female to be one flesh, husband and wife. (Verses 24, 25). “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Matthew 19:6; Galatians 1:6-9).
Additionally, consider the following. The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, plenary, verbal word of God. It is God’s revelation of how He designed everything. It has been shown that God intended marriage to be between one male and one female for life, except for fornication. If one could legitimately remove the Bible from the equation, and only males married males and only females married females, without help from one of the opposite sex, the human population would cease to exist in just over one hundred (100) years. Two males or two females cannot procreate. Animals would walk the earth but a few years. Water creatures would soon be gone. Fowls would cease to exist shortly. Trees, grasses, and such like, would not continue to exist. The LGBTQ movement, if followed WITHOUT HELP FROM THE OPPOSITE SEX, would destroy life upon the earth. THINK, GOOD PEOPLE, THINK!!!!!
Third, Matthew 7:12 says, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind, charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth…..” What marriages would begin or end if all believed and faithfully followed God’s word? Anton Szandor LaVey, first pope of the church of Satan, San Francisco, California, now deceased, told this writer in the 70’s that his church believed and practiced the exact opposite of what the Bible and churches taught. One can see how that has worked out for the world!!!
Dear reader, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” (John 5:39; Acts 17:10-12).
